(2) watching a video on Khan academy & doing 5 problems. If you log in, click the bell next to your name to see the assignment. If that doesn't work, search for "Pythagorean Theorem" in the search bar at the top. See below:
The video is "The Pythagorean theorem intro." The practice is "Pythagorean theorem" (no number after it & not the word problems).
If the link in the HW for fiding your address (j.mp/chicagogrid1) is not working, here is the direct link: http://www.chicagohomeestates.com/info/chicago_street_guide
Under "Browse Street By Name," select the first letter of your street name and then search through the list for your street.
Having trouble? Can't find your street? This might help:
If you're not comfortable using your address (although it ison Powerschool), use an intersection near you. This means both streets will give you the 2 coordinates. Pay careful attention to the street directions, then. N/S (given on the website after the street, not before) are on the y-axis and W/E are on the x-axis.
If you're on a numbered street south, multiply by 100. (Ex: 47th St = 4700 S)
If you're on an angled street, the webpage will give several major streets. Either estimate your address based on that, or find an intersection of non-angled streets near you and use that.
If you cannot find your address, you may be able to find streets parallel (ex: 1 block north & 1 block south) and take the average, or else use an intersection nearby.
If you are in a suburb, pick an address of a friend or relative in the city.
